10.25 THE LINE OF HEART

The line of heart normally starts in the area of the mount of Jupiter, under the first finger, then runs across the palm at the base of the mounts to the edge of the hand. It is the first horizontal line in the palm. It represents the emotional and physical qualities dependent upon the heart. A clear line indicates a love of family, steadfastness, and human sympathy.

Starting high, almost to the base of the finger, jealousy.

Beginning low and running in a straight line, apparent affection for family with little demonstration of emotions.

Between first and second finger, love is sensual; a very tolerant nature; a generous attitude toward all people.

Between second and third fingers, a negative attitude toward love; the object of the affections must be a very understanding person.

The heart line that drops down at the start and joins the head line, the head then “rules the heart.”

If the heart, head, and life lines are joined at the start, unreasonableness in affections and family life may cause unhappiness and disappointments. An extremist unwilling to use good judgment.

Extending around the percussion of the hand, very spirited, inclined to be too audacious.

Long and thin, revengeful when frustrated.

Wide and pale, inclined to dissipate because of indecision.

The higher the line lies, the warmer and more affectionate nature. The lower it lies, the colder and more calculative.

If the line is missing, then extreme selfishness may exist. It may be part of the head line if only one line is visible. In this case, read it as a head line tempered by the affections.

A double heart line increases the capacity for love and affection. Unusual physical strength and endurance.

A fork formation at the beginning, a nicely balanced home life.

Small branches, lightheartedness, gaiety.

Downward branches that do not touch another important line, disappointments with those you love or admire.
