PACKING: 

A very common dream is one of packing luggage. It is a repressed desire to travel or to leave one’s present home, occupation, or a person. If the packing is never completed, the dreamer is frustrated over something in everyday living.

PAGODA:

Dreaming that you are in a pagoda with all the luxurious decor indicates a desire for sexual union in ornate surroundings. If you just see a pagoda it is a longing to travel in Oriental countries. See House.

PAINTING:

To paint a picture is a wish to express the dreamer’s ambition or to personify someone to whom he or she cannot convey his emotions.

PANTHER:

To kill a panther indicates much rejoicing after a hard, long struggle for wealth or position. To see a panther and try to run away from it may mean disappointment or disgrace to the dreamer. The panther is also the symbol of sexual desire. The panther represents the attacker, the dreamer, the one who is sexually dissatisfied.

PARALYSIS:

Paralysis in a dream is frequent to many. Failure to walk, move, talk or scream is terrifying. It represents indecision to solve a problem, a conflict of some sort that faces the dreamer in waking hours. This kind of dream can continue for years, as long as the situation exists.

PARROT: See Birds.

PARTY:

A gay party means pleasure and amusement for the dreamer. A mad, wild party augurs trouble and unwise selection of friends.

PASSENGER:

If you are traveling as a passenger in your dream, you are dissatisfied. To see passengers leaving without you, a lost opportunity. To greet them arriving, your lot will improve.

PEACHES:

To dream of eating peaches indicates unattained wealth or love. If the peaches are on a tree, conscientious work will be rewarded with ample gain, whether it be for money or for a family. Peaches are also a symbol of a woman’s breasts. See Plums.

PEARLS:

A gift of pearls mean a gala celebration for the dreamer and the recipient. To lose pearls or break a string of pearls, misunderstandings.

PEARS:

A dream of pears always promises surprises and good health followed by periods of disappointment and temporary illness. See Plums.

PEBBLES:

To dream of pebble signifies petty jealousy or selfishness.

PEN OR PENCIL:

Either indicates complications of an adventuresome nature. A pen is a symbol of the male reproductive organ.

PENNY:

Counting pennies augurs economical worries for the dreamer. To lose pennies, admonition to be economical. To find pennies, a wish for a more lucrative business. See Money.

PIANO:

To dream of an old-fashioned piano is a dream of nostalgia, a retrogressive urge to capture something that has been lost. A broken piano signifies frustration. See Music, Archestra, Organ.

PICTURES:

If you dream that pictures surround you it is a desire for artistic expression. To buy them augurs extravagance. Paintings.

PILOT:

Dreaming that you are a pilot of an airplane or a ship is a wish to direct others, or to at least manage your own affairs.

PING-PONG: See Sports.

PIPE:

A dream about a pipe is an omen of peaceful living. If, however, the pipe is broken it warns of poor health and lessening finances. Smoking a pipe in the presence of someone who is averse to it means a temperamental difference with a loved one.

PIRATE:

A dream of pirates indicates the dreamer’s suspicion of associates. If you dream that you are a pirate it signifies unethical practices.

PISTOL:

The pistol in a dream indicates bad luck.

PIT:

A pit represents ventures that are hazardous to occupation or marriage. See Pockets.

PITCHER:

An empty pitcher or one containing liquid refreshment is indicative of the dreamer’s actual physical thirst, or, in dream parlance, a generous desire to make new acquitances.

PLANK:

A plank or a bridge is a means for the dreamer to reach a goal that may be economically out of reach. It concerns handicaps experienced in daily life that appear to prohibit the realization of such dreams, awake or asleep. A broken bridge or plank indicates a major hindrance that the dreamer must overcome.

PLOW:

Plowing a level field means steady plowing for dreamer. Uneven, up-and-down hill, or rocks represent setbacks that can be handled but take more time.

PLUMS:

See Peaches, Pears for similar interpretation. The exception is the dried plum which becomes a prune, indicating that the dreamer should wait a reasonable time before making a decision.

POCKETS:

Pockets, like pits, warn the dreamer to be cautious lest a serious mistake be made. The pocket is symbolic of the womb. This may signify a desire to retrogress or retreat from the world.

POCKETBOOK:

Finding a pocketbook containing money and valuables indicates the dreamer’s desire to have more possessions which require an increase in funds. Losing a pocketbook heightens the intensity of the dream and shows great disappointment.

POISON:

Poison dreams are escape trends whereby the dreamer either wishes to eliminate an unwanted person socially or in business, or to personally eradicate an intolerable situation.

POKER:

To use a poker in your dream to stir up a fire shows an industrious period is ahead. If the poker is used for defense, the dreamer is aware of an unfair plot that could be ruinous to reputation. For a dream about playing poker, see Gambling.

POLICE:

To be arrested by the police, though innocent, the dreamer will extricate himself from an unfortunate tangle. Otherwise, it may be a guilt complex. To see an officer, a desire to be protected.

POOL: See Lake.

POOL(THE GAME): See Bollards.

POPPIES:

Traditionally known as the flower of seduction, it represents the dreamer’s wish to be free of responsibilities so that exotic excitement may be experienced.

PORTER:

To see a porter signifies a desire to travel. If the porter has your luggage, a change seems inevitable but not always travel.

PORTFOLIO:

A portfolio indicates perplexities and a need of advice for the dreamer. Also a desire for a change of surroundings.

POSTMAN:

To dream of the postman signifies worries and subsequent complications.

POST OFFICE:

To see a post office is a reminder that the dreamer has already neglected to perform a specific task still in mind.

PRAYERS:

To dream of praying indicates a fear of failure.

PREACHER: See Clergy.

PREGNANCY:

A dream about pregnancy indicates anxiety and impatience with conditions.

PRINCE, PRINCESS:

A dream of royally is frequently a wish to aspire to a better way of living. The prince and princess are symbolic of young people who may or may not be related to the dreamer. See King.

PURSUIT:

Dreams where you are running away from someone show discontentment and a determination to enjoy life more.

PYRAMIDS:

Pyramids indicate that the dreamer would like a change of venue, a new interest something that will improve a thirst for higher knowledge.
