1.6 LEO

LEO – LION July 23 to August 21

********************************

This is the sign of exuberance, denoting powerful personality and born leadership. Both ambition and idealism are present under Leo, for the brilliance of this sign reflects the grandeur of its governing planet, the Sun. But Leo, as well as being high-minded can be high-handed When persons of this type fall victims to their own shortcomings, the result can prove disastrous. Worse, it is usually not noticeable until after the crash.

There is little of the negative in Leo. That is what makes this sign deceptive and sometimes deceitful. Leo people are impulsive, generous, and brave, quick to follow their own intuition. Their success is furthered by their marked influence upon all persons they meet, often winning over those who oppose them by their sheer magnetic qualities. But if their efforts are wrongly directed, this can result in false idealism. The Leo benefactor is sometimes only a hairsbreadth from a tyrant.

Leo people insist upon charting their own course and do so with an inherent vigor. They like everything that is active including outdoor life, for they crave the warmth of the sun that is so predominant in their sign. They ride over their own faults so naturally, that apparently they are not aware of them. Their very exuberance makes them show-offs, but they feel they are above such criticism.

By an odd quirk, indolence is the greatest of drawbacks to the Leo temperament. They will revel in ease and luxury until they are forced to action either through necessity or their own self-imposed demands. They love the spotlight, perhaps bet cause to them it is the sun in miniature. They seek appreciation and affection as quickly as they give it, but they form their own conclusions without considering whether they are right or wrong.

As a result, when they honestly think that they are right, they assume that all critics must be wrong. There are no halfway measures in such exuberant natures. They stand up for their friends and family in the same impulsive way and are ready to denounce all who disagree. Hence, the higher they rise, the more convinced they become of their own importance and the less they care about the opposition. Leo’s power can override anything.

Leo personalities do not show jealousy. Instead, they invite it, which throws the burden on their critics. But they are easily flattered and make the mistake of trusting false friends. They are above petty things and gain results through their own personality and charm. But if they find themselves slipping, they will justify whatever measures they need to take in order to retain what they honestly feel is rightfully theirs.

In business, Leo offers unlimited prospects. The men of this sign are fine physicians, the women excellent nurses, because of the influence they hold upon their patients. They succeed in many other professions, because they have a flair for showmanship, which can sway clients quite as effectively as audiences. Many noted actors were born under this sign; and in the literary field, they have had a strong trend toward the dramatic, all part of the Leo makeup.

In the strictly commercial lines, Leo people star in special fields. Anything requiring promotion or enthusiastic development comes in their domain. They are capable hotel men, restaurateurs, real estate developers, sales managers, and executives, for their enthusiasm is contagious. As partners, they team well with persons of all signs, but do particularly well with those born under Cancer, Virgo, and Aquarius.

In marriage, the Leo exuberance is also generally helpful, though not always harmonious. Perhaps they are best suited to Aries, Sagittarius, or Aquarius; but Leo also has excellent marital prospects with Cancer and Virgo, as well as those of their own sign, Leo.
