2.7 TRIPLE NINES
This is a very intriguing form of card consultation, requiring three deals, which some cartomancers interpret in terms of past, present, and future, but which can be made into a general reading quite as effectively. This, as with all such auguries, depends much on the mood of the consultant and whatever questions he or she may want answered.
Briefly, the pack is dealt into five rows of face-up cards, nine to each, with an added row of seven. The consultant’s appropriate card, which is decided upon beforehand, is then located and a count begun from it, toward the right of the row in which it appears. Reaching the end of that row, you move to the row below and continue the count to the left.
2.6 THE LUCKY THIRTEEN
Take a joker or some odd card and place it face up to represent the consultant. Around it add twelve more cards face down, exactly as shown here. The letters on the cards show the way they are to be paired. Turn up the two marked “A” and interpret them in terms of the consultant. Do the same with the Pair marked “B.” These represent the closest influences to the consultant.
