10. PALMISTRY
10. PALMISTRY
*************
The subject of palmistry, or the study of the human hand, is composed of two parts: chirosophy, or the mystical significance of the lines, markings, and developed areas; and chirognomy, or an analysis of the shape and formation of the hand, thumb, and fingers.
While the two are closely interwoven, the emphasis was originally on chirosophy, which was closely identified with astrology, as witness the names of the planets as applied to the areas called mounts. The lines, too, were generally interpreted in divinatory terms, as with other psychic sciences.
At the same time, formations were noted and used by expert in the art of chirosophy, and their readings became so accurate that scientific surveys were undertaken, resulting in a definitive classification of shapes and their indication. Thus chirognomy came into vogue.
9. MOLEOSOPHY (THE STUDY OF MOLES)
9. MOLEOSOPHY (THE STUDY OF MOLES)
**********************************
Moleosophy is based on the hypothesis that moles can be interpreted, in a small way, as indicators of a person’s character and also prognosticate generalities for the future. The location of the mole, the shape and color are considered.
Round moles reveal the good in people; oblong, a modest share of acquired wealth; angular represents both good and bad characteristics.
Light-colored moles are considered the luckiest; black moles, many difficulties before favorable results are achieved.
The signification of the moles by location are as follows:
ANKLE — On a man, a fearful nature. On a woman, a sense of humor, courageous, willing to share love and worldly possessions with others.
ARMS – Courteous, industrious, happy conjugal relations. A man may have to fight many battles if the mole is near the elbow. He may also become a widower at an early age. A woman has the same characteristics but her problems are in her occupation.
ARMPITS— Under the left arm, the early years are a struggle but ample remuneration, even riches will make the later years very happy. Under the right arm, constant vigilance for welfare and security must be kept uppermost.
BACK — Be sure you have all the facts before you enter into negotiation of any enterprise.
BELLY – Tendency to self-indulgence. Avoid overeating and excessive drinking. Keep a rigid check on your economy. Choose a marital partner who has an even, calm temperament and the gift of understanding.
