To give fuller interpretation to the signs of the zodiac, they have been divided into periods of approximately ten days, called the “decans” or “decantes” which cover modifications of individual traits. These are attributed to minor planetary influences, which temper or blend with the ruling influence of the period. A study of these is therefore helpful in forming the individual horoscope, but they are always to be regard as subordinate to the ruling planet.

The humane sign of Aquarius, with its scholarly planet, Saturn, lends a helpful influence to the modest nature of Pisces, giving it special attributes that befit the dignity of its governing planet, Jupiter. They make allowances for people as well as circumstances, returning good for evil until they feel that the time has come for a proper accounting.
